Road closures for Langholm's big day

TEMPORARY road closures are expected for drivers travelling to Langholm during the Riding of the Marches Day.

Various roads in Langholm are set to be closed in order to facilitate the holding of the Langholm Common Riding event, which is taking place on Friday, July 31.

The High Street will be closed from 5 am to 10 pm to allow for the facilitating of the parades happening throughout the day.

The closure has been put in place to enable members of the public to watch the parades, and to reduce disruption to traffic likely to be caused by the event.

Alternative routes are via A7 at Hawick, A698, A6088 via Bonchester Bridge, and B6357 to A7 at Canonbie.
Drivers can expect delays on the B709 during the event period.

Pedestrian access will be maintained.
