Raft of thefts in Annan
A NUMBER of theft-related incidents have been reported in Annan since the beginning of June.
From the theft of a children’s bicycle in Elm Avenue to a break-in at a property on St John’s Road with intent to steal, the community has faced a series of concerning incidents in recent weeks.
A report has also been lodged regarding the theft of a scrap metal boiler from the garden of a property in Newington Avenue.
Three males travelling in a yellow Ford Transit-style van are alleged to have been responsible.
Meanwhile, a man was arrested by police on July 2 following reports of suspicious activity in the garden areas of three properties in Northfield Park during the early hours of the morning has been charged with several offences. He was released and is due to ap- pear in court.
Elsewhere, police are investigating a shop-lifting incident at Tesco in which a known female allegedly stole £150 worth of food and clothing before leaving the store without paying. Enquiries to trace and arrest her are ongoing.
Since early June, six reports of vandalism have also been recorded. The report has been provided by Annan Community Council by local community officer PC Stephen Glendinning.
