COMMUNITY leaders in Moffat got an advance look inside the town’s new Health and Social Care Hub ahead of its opening.
Members of the community council were invited last week to tour the former cottage hospital building.
During the visit community councillors – Leyes Geddes, David Booth, Edward Ling and chairman Liam O’Neill – saw spaces which will be used by the area’s Home Team, who will go out into the community providing services such as adult community nursing, adult social work, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, reablement and public health improvement and community development.
Additionally they were shown the clinical rooms which will be used on site as flexible consulting and treatment spaces for which can be used by teams from across Mental Health, Acute, Community and Family Services.
Commenting on the visit, business and quality manager Peter Bryden said: “We’re aware that there’s a great deal of interest in the work that has been taking place to prepare the facility as a health and social care hub.
“It’s taken time to get everything in place, but we’re extremely pleased with the quality of the refurbishment and the fact that the site is now ready to host a wide range of health and social care services.
“We’ll be keen to showcase the facility as these services begin operating over the coming days, and we were delighted to welcome local community councillors for an early look at the completed renovations.”
Fuller details on the facility will be provided in due course, with work currently taking place to bring in the range of staff who will be providing these services.
