DUMFRIES: Man assaulted in street

A MAN has been seriously injured after being assaulted by three other men in the centre of Dumfries in the early houses of Sunday morning. The 29-year-old victim was seated on a wall with a woman in Queensberry Square when the attack happened around 2 am. He suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary before being transferred for specialist treatment to the Southern General Hospital, Glasgow.
