Chance for women to make voices heard

WOMEN across the region are being encouraged to attend the Scottish Women’s Convention (SWC) in Dumfries next Thursday night.

The event at the Easterbrook Hall is a forum for women to give their views on a range of issues that affect them and their families.

Commenting ahead of the convention, chair of the SWC, Agnes Tolmie said: “It is vital that during this time of economic challenges, the concerns of women are listened to by politicians. With the rising costs of food and fuel that families are facing across Scotland, it is more important than ever that decision makers should not forget the impact on women and their families when drafting policy.

“The Scottish Women’s Convention provides a vital role in ensuring local women have a voice and a link with political discussion.”

The SWC wil take place in the Duncan Room 4 at Easterbrook Hall from 6.30pm to 8 pm on Thursday March 28.
