A NEW historical walking tour launches in Kirkcudbright this summer.
Max Mcfarlane, a 16 year-old ‘time travelling teenager’ who attends Kirkcudbright Academy, has launched his free historical walking tour round Kirkcudbright. The tour runs twice a week, Mondays and Saturdays at 5.30 pm and 7 pm through to the middle of
August.
The idea combines Max’s interest in history and his love of acting, using the streets of Kirkcudbright as his stage. He said: “I walk past the Tolbooth every day and wanted to find out more about what happened there.
“This led to me finding out more about the historic buildings and people who have been influential in Kirkcudbright.
“I think it’s really interesting to find patterns in the past and reflect on how people used to live and what might have motivated them to act in the ways that they did.
“There are some things about my town that I really did not know before I started my research. I think if I do a good job, other people will become interested too.”
