SUPER SUPPER . . . the curtain has come down on the eighth Big Burns Supper Festival in Dumfries, with the organisers hailing it a stellar success. Audiences increased this year by 18 per cent and there was a string of sell outs and reports of a boost to the local economy. It ran for 11 days and featured 111 individual events for all ages, of which highlights were cabaret night Le Haggis VI, the Burns Night Live party headlined by KT Tunstall, and appearances from Ed Byrne, Craig Charles, Frank Tuner, Hardeep Singh Kohli and more. Executive producer Graham Main said: “We are incredibly proud and thankful as festival producers to our artists, audiences, staff, volunteers and the community of Dumfries who all work together to realise what is the largest Burns Supper celebration in the world.”
