Roads letter error

THERE has been some confusion about upcoming resurfacing works in Lochmaben this week.

Some burgh residents have been sent letters from Dumfries and Galloway Council informing them of roadwork in Stanedykes Crescent due to begin next Wednesday.

The street will be closed between 9 am and 6 pm from Wednesday July 29 until Monday August 3, with no diversions in place.

But the letter from the authority has left some bewildered as it included the wrong map of the closure site, instead showing Lockerbie Road in Dumfries.

While some have had a chuckle at the mistake, others were less amused.

However, Cllr Carolyne Wilson has confirmed that the works will still be going ahead and that she will raise the error with the roads department.
