Park pump repairs in hand

PATIENCE is wearing thin regarding promised repairs to the water feature within Moffat’s Station Park.

The main pump in the park’s popular water feature has been out of commission for almost a month, much to the annoyance of many residents.

The problem was initially brought to the attention of Annandale North Cllr Lynne Davis, who reported the issue to the committee assets team. They stated that the site would be visited by a plumber within seven working days.

Earlier in the month frustrations reached a boiling point with several residents voicing their annoyance on social media: one wrote: “No accountability unfortunately, unelected council officials appear to be untouchable with their forward planning and roadmap for works.

“If residents were given a firm work date then all would be acceptable.”

Issuing an update last week, Cllr Davis said: “The repairs team have attended the site and carried out an inspection. They discovered that a replacement valve was required and have ordered this. They have advised the the part might take two weeks to arrive unfortunately. This will be repaired as soon as the parts are obtained.

“In the meantime, the main water jet is still operational for the children to play in during this current spell of warm weather.

“Moffat Community Council have also been informed of this.”
