THE first Scottish Curling Tournament of the season was the recent Asham U21 Slam at Greenacres, with a large contingent of Dumfries Young Curlers travelling to take part. The boys final saw Team Carson continue their dominant form. They were 6-1 up after four ends before exchanging singles to run out 7-2 winners after six ends against Team Brewster from Aberdeen and retain their Greenacres Trophy. The girls final saw a determined Team Laurie play better than their previous meeting with Team Seftor. The game started out very cagey with thee blank ends before Team Laurie stole a single to take the lead, before the teams exchanged twos in ends five and six, with Team Laurie stealing another single to take a two shot lead into the last end. Skip Tia Laurie won the game with a double take out with her last stone.
