Inaugural open comp hailed great success

IT was a busy weekend for Solway Pètanque. On Saturday the Annan club held its first open competition, a mixed doubles event. Competitors travelled from Stirling, East Lothian, Troon, Ayr, Moffat and Inverleith, many of whom found accommodation in the town and enjoyed shopping, eating out, and visiting local attractions. The day began with bacon rolls from The Pantry at 8.30 am along with registration. And the competition saw many closely contested matches.
