DUMFRIES bare-knuckle boxer Kaseem Saleem suffered an agonising defeat in his big BKFC fight at the weekend.
Saleem was beaten by experienced Polish opponent Lucasz Parobiec in Birmingham.
The heavyweight contest at BKFC 90 Birmingham saw Saleem and Parobiec on course to go the distance.
Saleem looked to have edged the contest but Parobiec hit him with a series of punches and then a killer left-hand.
That saw the referee step in and halt the right as Parobiec won by a technical knockout.
Kaseem said: “The fight didn’t go the way I dreamed it would but that doesn’t take away from what this opportunity meant to me.
“I have dreamed of stepping onto a stage like this, and to finally do it was something I’ll never forget.
“Of course, I’m disappointed with the result but I’m incredibly proud to have had the chance to compete on the biggest bare knuckle boxing platform in the world.
“Being part of this is not just a dream come true – it’s a genuine honour.
“To share the ring and the stage with some of the legends of the bare knuckle boxing world is something I will carry with me for the rest of my life.”
