Xmas window winners

ANNAN’S most festive windows have been crowned.

The town’s Christmas Lights Committee took over the competition this year and have revealed their winners.

The overall top trophy went to The Solway Cafe, chosen for their originality, uniqueness and effort, Scottish theme, intricate detail and use of products from other small local businesses - above.

Second was the Kate’s Kitchen Charity Shop, who had a humorous Scottish theme, incorporating a giant Tunnocks Teacake and can of Irn Bru.

And third place went to Our Wee Pop Up Shop and their kilted nutcrackers. The judges said it was “original and clever”.

Special mentions too to The Cafe Royal, Trend Hair Salon, Annan Gifts, Garden Wise and Petsavers for their efforts.

A Christmas Lights Committee spokesperson said: “Well done again to The Solway Cafe for the fantastic window display and thank you to all of the businesses who have gone to the effort of lighting up their windows to keep the festive spirit in Annan burning bright!

“Please do take a walk up the street and appreciate for yourself just how lovely the town is looking this year.”
