Warrior Kayleigh scoops regional award
LAST Friday, at the 2025 Community Recognition Awards at Murrayfield, two Annan Warriors players were in the running.
Rhianna Parker-Clevett was nominated for Adult Volunteer of the Season for all her environmental efforts and fundraising at Annan Rugby, and Kayleigh Warrick for Women’s Regional League Player of the Season.
Unfortunately Rihanna missed out but Kayleigh won the accolade.
Kayleigh has been playing rugby since her teens and is one of the original Warriors who made her debut back in 2015.
Ten years and 87 matches for the Warriors later (and quite a few for the Stewartry Sirens), 16 tries and numerous player of the match awards, especially this season, propelled Kayleigh to be nominated by her peers.
The SRU website stated: “Kayleigh Warrick is a player who has had an excellent season, culminating in Silver Saturday silverware, winning the Women’s Plate final for her side against Garioch.
“She not only played in the final, but scored a try in the 34-24 win, taking the plate back home with them to the south-west.”
