Vale signing spree

ABBEY Vale have been busy making additions to their squad as the new South of Scotland League season nears ever closer. Lewis Smith, Ben Wallace, Reece Nicoll, Olly Cairnie and Keiran Pirrie have all put pen to paper for the New Abbey club. Vale welcome Muirkirk to Maryfield Park on Saturday for their latest pre-season encounter, kick off is at 2 pm. Last Friday West of Scotland side Threave Rovers defeated current South of Scotland League champions Lochar Thistle 4-0 at the North West Community Campus. This Saturday Thistle are up in West Dunbartonshire for a fixture against newly promoted Lowland League side Clydebank. Threave, meanwhile, also played a friendly against Newton Stewart last night. On Saturday the Castle Douglas side entertain Carlisle City at Meadow Park, 12 pm kick off. Over at Islecroft Dalbeattie Star drew 2-2 with East Kilbride YM, the Star goals came from Declan Rogerson and Connor Potts. Dalbeattie entertain Sunday League side Palmerston Colts on Saturday, 2 pm kick off.
