Urgent hunt for missing woman

SEARCHES are ongoing in Dumfries today for a missing woman - with concern growing for her whereabouts.

Lynn Tyeson, 48, was last seen around 3 am on Sunday morning in the Whitesands area, after a night out with friends in the town.

She is slim with blonde shoulder length hair.  When she was last seen, she was wearing a wearing a black and white striped top, black skinny trousers, and black sandals.

No-one has seen or heard from Lynn since the early hours and her family is growing increasingly concerned. They say it is out of character for her not to be in touch with friends and family.

A large search operation is currently underway with police checking CCTV footage for clues, the police helicopter has been drafted in and Nith Inshore Rescue, coastguard and mountain rescue teams are also helping score the river area.

Speaking earlier today, Inspector Craig Nicolson said: “Extensive enquiries are underway to locate Lynn.”

He appealed for a man seen walking his two dogs in the Mill Wood at about 3.15 am on Sunday to come forward and any other witnesses with information to contact them via 101, quoting incident number 0868 of 29 July 2018.
