SOLWAY Sharks suffered two defeats on home ice to Peterborough Phantoms last weekend.

It was two tightly contested matches between the pair at the Ice Bowl.

In Saturday’s match, the Sharks rallied in the third period after being 3-0 down. Carter Hamill, Liam Stenton, right, and Jordan Buesa strikes forced the match into overtime but it was the visitors who netted the winner.

On Sunday, the Sharks started strong in the first period with two early goals from Torran Anderson and Jonathan Yantsis. This was followed up by a powerplay goal from Jake Bolton to extend the lead.

However, the Phantoms found the back of the net just before the end of the first.

And they continued to battle back in the second period where they managed to level the score.

And the comeback was completed by the visitors – despite the Sharks pulling it back to 4-4 with just three minutes remaining through Bolton.

Phantoms found the winner on the powerplay with just eight seconds left of the game.

This weekend, the Sharks are on their travels. On Saturday, they take on Swindon Wildcats. The following day the team are on the road again to take on Leeds Knights.
