ANNAN Warriors continued their West Two campaign on the road last Sunday as they trounced Cartha Queens Park 69-10.

The 22-strong Annan squad started well and after some good phase play, opened the scoring with the first try of the day as Jane Haren finished well in the corner.

Cartha responded quickly and levelled the score.

Annan struck back through Kirsty Barlow who scored near the posts. Barlow crossed again not long after.

The same player went on to add two more tries, taking her personal tally to four.

A solid platform was set all afternoon by the Warriors’ forwards, who provided quick ball and interlinked well with the backs.

That pattern repeated throughout the game, allowing Annan to run in a total of 11 tries.

Kirsty Barlow (4), Jane Haren (2), Lexie Steel, Elise McMorran, Erin Ewing, Lexie Glendining, and Megan Phillips-Craig.

It was a true squad performance, with all players contributing and the bench maintaining the same high standard of play.

On Saturday it was a narrow defeat for Annan 1st XV, they lost 24-20 at home to Greenock Wanderers.

This Saturday the Annan/Moffat U18s take on Ellon at Holm Park, Moffat, KO at 2 pm.

At 3 pm the Annan 1st XV welcome Wigtownshire to Violetbank in the Shield, while the 2nd XV are also at home to Allan Glens.

On Sunday the Tigers are at Dumfries in the morning; D and G U18 Girls take on Carrick at 11 am at Holm Park; and the Warriors entertain Irvine Ladies at Violetbank, 2 pm KO.

Elsewhere, Moffat Rams made it three draws from three in West Division Three as they drew 39-39 away to Hyndland.

There are two Rams games at once this weekend. The Senior Rams host Isle of Mull with an early kick off time of 1 pm in their next league fixture, and the U18 Rams welcome Ellon in the National Youth Cup, KO at 2 pm.

On Sunday the Primary Rams head to Dumfries for their first away tournament of this season.
