Tough cup tie for Lochar

LOCHAR Thistle will represent the South of Scotland League on Saturday as they welcome West of Scotland First Division side Whitletts Victoria to Wilson Park in the Cup Winner’s Shield. Last weekend’s match away to East of Scotland outfit Crossgates Primrose was called off on Saturday morning due to a waterlogged pitch. Elsewhere, Abbey Vale take on Nithsdale Wanderers at Maryfield in the quarter final of the SOSFL Cup. Last weekend Vale exited the SCFA Challenge Cup following a penalty shootout defeat to Stranraer Reserves at the North West Community Campus. The match finished 1-1 after 90 minutes, with Ben Wallace scoring the goal for the home side.
