Toilets closed after flood

It happened after pipes burst at the facilities in Castle Street. They are maintained by Dumfries and Galloway Council and a spokesman yesterday said: “The recent winter conditions have caused freezing to pipework in a number of facilities across Dumfries and Galloway. “The hard frost and quick thaw has caused a number of pipes to burst. Where this has occurred, as is the case with a number of public toilets (most of which are unheated), the facilities have been closed and repairs allocated to the appropriate repairs team. The Lochmaben toilet remains closed awaiting repairs.”
