Mavericks mark end of swim season

MERRICK Mavericks held their club championships and presentation evening earlier this month.

A busy gallery of family and friends attended the event at the Merrick Leisure Centre to watch a competitive round of racing for swimmers aged nine to 16.

It proved to be a night of close finishes, keeping those watching happy and keen to cheer the swimmers on.

By the conclusion of the racing the age group winners had been determined and it was a move to the Faith Mission Centre for the presentations and buffet.

Presenting the trophies, head coach Dee Montgomery and Maverick chair Jemma McNeill, thanked all the swimmers for their hard work and enthusiasm throughout the year.

Special thanks also went to the parents and committee for their continued support of the club and the commitment they put in to ensure swimmers had this opportunity. Jemma thanked the coaching staff of Dee, Agnes and Crystal for their dedication to the swimmers, and in turn Jemma was thanked for the work she has put in over the past year.
