Tia earns Mixed Doubles crown
DUMFRIES curler Tia Laurie and her partner Ethan Brewster were crowned 2026 Scottish Curling Junior Mixed Doubles Champions.
The duo delivered a flawless performance over the three-day competition at Dumfries Ice Bowl without dropping a single game. Their undefeated run was capped off with a clinical 6–3 victory in the final against Holly Burke and Archie Hyslop.
The win is a significant milestone for both athletes, marking their first Scottish national title as a pair.
Both Tia and Ethan are no strangers to the international stage, having previously secured gold medals at the 2024 Winter Youth Olympics in separate events.
Since forming their partnership, they have shown rapid progression, including a win at the Matt Murdoch Memorial Mixed Doubles in December.
Speaking after the final, Tia said: “We had a great competition managing to go undefeated and are delighted to have won the title and the opportunity to represent Scotland.”
The pair’s victory has earned them the prestigious honour of representing Team Scotland on the world stage.
They are now set to travel to Edmonton, Canada, for the World Junior Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, which will take place from May 5-10.
