Teams end year on table summits

WIGTOWNSHIRE RFC rounded off 2025 with a 36-19 victory at home to Birkmyre in West Division Two last Saturday. Tries came from Andrew McMillan, Blair, Forsyth, Jason McKie, Mark Pirrie, James McGarvie and Neil Forsyth. The result means Shire men sit top of the division heading into the new year. Elsewhere, Newton Stewart ended the year in defeat away to Howe of Fife at Duffus Park, Cupar. They lost the National League Division Two clash 35-14. Despite defeat, the Bladnoch Park side will enter 2026 at the top of the table. The Shire men return to action on Saturday January 10 away to Mid Argyll, while Newton kick off the new year on the same date at home to Falkirk.
