Team manager role for Hurley
THE Solway Sharks SNL have announced the signing of Allan Hurley, right, as team manager ahead of the 25/26 Scottish National League season.
A club statement said: “A regular at the Ice Bowl, having supported the Sharks since moving to Dumfries in 2021 and volunteering at junior games with his son currently progressing through the Solway set up at U16 level, Allan brings a wealth of experience in leadership and management from his long military career.”
Hurley added: “It’s an honour to take on the SNL team manager role, and I’m really excited for what this first season will bring.
“I’ve been hugely impressed with the club and its community first ethos, with strong focus on junior player development.
“I see the SNL team as a pivotal step in the progression pathway to the NIHL team and it offers our talented local players a solid platform in a very competitive league to showcase their ability. I can’t wait to get started!”
Head coach Bob Chalmers said: “I’m thrilled to announce that Allan has joined us for our inaugural season!
“His extensive experience and vision align perfectly with our goals for the team.
“I have no doubt that Allan will work tirelessly alongside our committee to ensure a bright future for the club. “
The Solway Sharks hope their newly established Scottish National League team will help provide a stepping stone from their thriving junior pathway to senior ice hockey.
