IN a dominant display at Curl Aberdeen, Dumfries curling outfit Team Carson clinched their fourth successive Scottish Junior Curling Championship.

The team who curl out of Dumfries Ice Bowl set a new record as the first to secure four titles.

It has been a long journey as the four boys have curled with each other since being put together as a team in 2017, and have secured titles at every age group from Under 14 to Under 21.

Skip Orrin Carson, along with brother Logan at vice, Archie Hyslop at second and lead Charlie Gibb were in fine form all week, securing their semi-final spot with a perfect record of nine wins with no losses.

The week started with a commanding win over Team Brewster from Aberdeen and carried on through to the semi.

The lads were pitched against Team Halliday skipped by Dumfries young curler Jack Halliday.

Although the score was favourable to Team Carson, the Halliday rink made it a great game with some good play and good tactics.

In the final, Team Carson were pitched against Team Thomson from Perth whose line up contained another Dumfries curler in Stewart Kyle.

Team Carson controlled well as they ran Team Thomson out of stones.
