Sweeping towards success

BASED at the National Curling Academy in Stirling, Logan Carson spends his days on the ice, in amongst Olympians, Paralympians and the best curling athletes in the country.

The local lad is a 2026 World Junior Curling Championship bronze medallist, 2024 Youth Olympic gold medallist and four-time Scottish Junior champion, competing in Team Carson, skipped by his brother Orrin.

Logan in his first year studying sports coaching and is the first ever Dumfries and Galloway College student to be supported by Winning Students 100 – Scotland’s national sports scholarship programme.

With aspirations to one day make the Olympics and reach the very top of his sport, Logan’s story is one of dedication, resilience and ambition.

With the support of Winning Students 100, he’s able to balance the demands of his sport with the aim of becoming a sport psychologist, proving that success on the ice and in college can go hand in hand.

Winning Students 100 is a world-leading dual career programme, funded by Scottish Funding Council and sportscotland.
