GRETNA FC 2008 Ladies are set to play their first match this Sunday against Stanwix Ladies.

The team’s aim a couple of months ago was to see what interest they would have in bringing women’s football to town.

After a few open sessions they have started to build a core to the squad and have now enquired about joining the SWFL set up.

Coach Shaun Harrison said: “We welcome Stanwix Ladies to Raydale this Sunday, in order to start our pre-season and see what our strengths and weaknesses are in a match scenario.”

Kick off is at 12 pm and admission is free.
