Sharks set for home ice return
THE Solway Sharks will make their return to Dumfries Ice Bowl this Friday night for their first NIHL home game of the season. For the first three weeks of the season, Solway have been on the road due to work taking place at the ice bowl. A big home support is expected and limited tickets are still available. The team are back on the road on Saturday as they face the Telford Tigers. Last Saturday’s scheduled fixture away to Basingstoke Bison was cancelled less than three hours before kick off due to technical difficulties. Sunday’s game against the Peterborough Phantoms went ahead as normal. It was all about the comebacks as the Phantoms battled back from 4-1 down to win 6-5 in another shootout, their third of the season. Cam Hough scored a hat-trick and the winning shootout goal to keep the hosts unbeaten on home ice this season.
