THE Solway Sharks concluded their 2025/2026 NIHL National Division season with two high-scoring but ultimately unsuccessful efforts against Milton Keynes Lightning and Hull Seahawks. In their final home game, the Sharks engaged in a back-and-forth thriller against MK on Saturday night. Despite leading 4–1 late in the first period, Solway couldn’t withstand a late surge from the Lightning and eventually lost 7-5. Scorers for the Sharks were Jonathan Yantsis, Dylan Stewart (x2), Kell Beattie and Jordan Buesa. The season finale in Hull saw a large Sharks following travel down south. And they saw their side display significant resilience, but the Seahawks maintained control to seal the victory. Stewart netted a double whilst Dylan Murray and Michael Hodge also got on the scoresheet in the 6-4 loss. Murray scored his first NIHL National League goal in a standout performance. Despite the defeats, the Sharks maintained their ninth-place position in the final league standings.
