Senior gents final

THE final of the senior gents competition was played at Lockerbie Ice Rink last week for the Sandy Smith Trophy.

It was between the rinks skipped by Dave Hamilton and Jim Hogg. After the first three ends the Hogg rink had a five shot lead which they held on to, to win by eight shots to three

The winners were Jim Hogg (skip), Pete Bowsher, John Purdie and Terry Bishop, while the runners up were Dave Hamilton (skip), Roy Broatch, Tom Owen and Ted Hills.

Marion Murdoch, on behalf of the ice rink management, oversaw the presentation and thanked the sponsors and all who organised the competition before asking Gavin Wellburn, representing the sponsors L.I.P. Construction and L.I.P. Homes, to present the trophy and prizes to the runners up and winners.
