Season begins at Marchmount

MARCHMOUNT Bowling Club opened its green for the summer 2026 season last Friday evening. The sun made a very welcome appearance, as did many members and guests from other clubs in Dumfries. Alan Gass undertook the formalities of the evening, which included presentation of life membership to long standing member of 40 years Donald Poland, for his outstanding commitment to the club both on and off the green and to bowls throughout the region. The green was then officially opened with Alan’s wife Carol delivering the first jack and bowl of the season, followed by a short game on the green before a buffet and refreshments in the clubhouse were enjoyed by all.
