Region’s top dogs head to Crufts

CRUFTS is returning next month for its 2023 show, and 24 perfect puppers from Dumfries and Galloway are attending.

Over 24,000 different breeds of dogs will be travelling to the NEC in Birmingham for a long weekend of celebrating dogs of all shapes and sizes from March 9 to 12.

Dogs from across the world will duke it out in agility, flyball and obedience competitions.

Pedigree dogs have a chance to be awarded Best in Show, crossbreeds could be named Scrufft’s Family Crossbreed Dog of the Year, and crowds will find out which four-legged hero has been voted the winner of The Kennel Club Hero Dog Award.

Locals that are attending the show range from Tibetan Mastiffs from Annan, Irish Setters from Dumfries, Laborador Retrievers from Lockerbie, sheepdogs from Eastriggs and much more.
