WULLIE Gibson admitted he was disappointed not to grab all three points against Stranraer last weekend. His Annan side played out a 2-2 draw with the Blues at Galabank in a regional derby clash. Gibson said: “There’s frustration and disappointment that we’ve not won the game, because of the chances that we had in the second half. “But we’ve been on a good run of form and we’ve had some good performances. In December we played the top two teams, and we had a local derby in there, and came away with two wins and two draws – unbeaten in December. “It’s been a good month. It would have been nice to top it off with three points.” He added: “In terms of the run of form we’ve been on, hopefully we can keep going and take that into Stirling (on Saturday). “They had a good win, so we know we’re going to be up against it going to their pitch. “They will be wanting to claw more points back after a disappointing run of form. We’ve just got to be on our game.” A healthy crowd of 566 watched Annan and Stranraer battle it out, Gibson said: “There’s a buzz around here because of the Rangers game, our allocation for that is nearly gone. “Hopefully we can get more bums on seats and people supporting us and getting behind the club. That will go a long way to seeing where we finish the season.” And reflecting on the first half of the season, he said: “Would I have liked a few more points? Yes. I think there’s been a few games where we’ve come away with a defeat when it should have been a point. Or we’ve drawn a game where we maybe should have won. “Going into the new year we’re in a good place and we just need to build on that. “The target at the start of the season was the play-offs. We knew it was going to be difficult with the short squad and the budget. “But we just need to take it one game at a time. Keep building, keep playing the way we’re playing and see where it takes us.”
