This time next Friday players, supporters and officials from the Galabank club will be getting ready to travel to Glasgow as the Black and Golds take on the Scottish Premiership giants in the fourth round of the cup.

Annan fans had sold out their initial allocation of 950 tickets. But the League Two outfit has received an additional 160 briefs.

Eight buses will carry almost 400 Athletic fans to Ibrox.

And club director Neil Irving stated this week he was delighted with the response.

He said: “The excitement around the club has been building since the draw was made.

“The response from the people of Annan and those associated with the town has been incredible. We’re delighted as a club that Wullie and the team have been able to give them the opportunity to see us play at Ibrox.

“The supporters club have been instrumental in allowing so many fans to travel and we’re grateful to them for the hard work they’ve put in to making it possible.

“To have the Ladies and Girls, Community Football, Walking Football and disability footballers representing the club and cheering from the stands is fantastic for the club and testament to the volunteers in the groups for making it happen.”

Anyone still looking for a ticket should reach out to Neil at [email protected] and tickets will be also be on sale at Saturday’s game against Elgin – permitting the match goes ahead.

Next Friday’s match (with a 7.45 pm kick off) will be televised on Premier Sports.
