‘This is Sparta’ featured a number of exhibition and competitive bouts, with boxers from clubs around the north of England and Scotland taking part.
Three Nithvalley boxers – Alistair Sloan, Jack Burke and Jayden Williamson – were in attendance at the Corner House Hotel.
And they performed well. Alistair and Jack both won their bouts, while Jayden was unfortunate to lose out in his contest.
A special mention goes to Alistair who was named away fighter of the night.
Nithvalley head coach Mark Dawson said: “We work with the Solway Spartans on a regular basis, we spar together and we help each other out at tournaments. We have got a good relationship.
“The show was fantastic. It was at a great venue, with a great atmosphere and a great bunch of people.”
There was an electric atmosphere inside the sold out function room which had been transformed for the occasion.
All fights were streamed live on JATV – they are available to view now on their YouTube channel.
Commonwealth Games bronze medallist, now a professional, Tyler Jolly was on hand to present trophies to all the boxers.
Thanks are expressed to the officials, boxers and coaches, volunteers, Ray Carruthers and Becky Stevenson, sponsors, Jamie from JATV, MC Vincent Keane, Micky Warbeck and Amber Murray and all others who helped in any way to help make it a great night.
