New kit for kids

A DUMFRIES football club has received brand new kits thanks to a giveaway from a national energy supplier. As part of its Octopus Kits for Kids giveaway, the company aimed to kit out 500 kids’ teams. But the response was so overwhelming that it accepted applications for more than five times the original number of orders in its first season. Heston offers football for boys and girls from the age of 6 to 17. And the club is hoping to introduce adult teams in the future to allow players to continue playing after the youth leagues. Heston Rovers has 330 players across its teams, and is run and coached entirely by 70 volunteers. Terry, coach of Heston Rovers FC, said: “We are delighted with the quality of the kit and grateful to Octopus Energy for their generosity.”
