The Black and Golds boss praised his players following Tuesday night’s 4-3 win over Rangers B in the KDM Evolution Trophy. Victory under the lights at Galabank was Annan’s first in ten matches. And three points in the restructured Challenge Cup means Gibson’s troops are right back in the mix to qualify and secure vital funds for the club. The manager said: “You’re obviously happy with any win. I’d watched a bit of Rangers B, they’re a good side and they’d played well against Queen of the South – 2-1 it was, I think Queens were a bit fortunate to win that game.” Gibson added: “I knew that we were on a bad run in terms of points in the league, because that’s our bread and butter. We’re below where I want to be. “I know there are people who aren’t happy and a few questions are being asked, but I’m working as hard as I can with what I’ve got. “You can see the bench tonight and the players that are still missing. “We went back to our 3-5-2 formation, I thought we were far too open during the Clyde game in the 4-2-3-1, that’s down to personnel and not having a fully fit team. “We’ll keep working. You could see the desire the boys had tonight, I questioned that a couple of times in recent weeks and they showed they had it about them tonight to go and win the game. “Overall, we came away with three points, which was the target, and we didn’t get any serious injuries.”
