QUEENS Ladies went from scoring what they thought was a last minute winner to conceding a last minute winner all in the space of about thirty seconds on Sunday against Dunipace Ladies.

The Doonhamers opened the scoring through Holly ovens after eight minutes but Dunipace equalised almost immediately. Charlotte Bryden put Queens back in front after 14 minutes but again Dunipace equalised within minutes.

Into the second half and Dunipace got their noses in front for the first time in the 71st minute, but again there was a quick equaliser, this time from midfielder Jo Gallagher.

As the final whistle approached, Queens had the ball in the net after Haylie Crosbie’s header was kept out by the Dunipace keeper only for Macy Zygadlo to head in the rebound, but Queens’ elation was cut short when the referee decreed that Crosbie was offside, the Queens contingent did not think the decision was correct. Things then went from bad to worse when Dunipace immediately went up the field and snatched a winner, making the final score Dunipace 4 Queen of the South 3. There was, however, some good news for the team when it was announced that defender/midfielder Charlotte Bryden had been included in the SWFL League One Team of the Season. The award is well deserved as Charlotte has been imperious in whichever position she plays, and recently collected an trophy at the Queen of the South awards night as a top scorer for the Ladies.
