Ladies encouraged to come and give golf a go

POWFOOT Golf Club is keen to expand their ladies section this season.

Those aged 18 and older, who have never played the sport before, are being encouraged to come along and give it a go.

The club has launched a package of lessons on Saturday mornings from May to June.

Vice captain Ann Robison said: “We have got about 60 female members at the moment.

“In comparison to the men’s section, which has over 500 members, there’s a big gap.

“Golf is good for your mental and physical health, and it gets you outside. It’s also a sport that you can play for your whole life.”
