Jewellers robbed

A ROBBERY at a jewellers in Dumfries this week has sparked a police appeal for dashcam footage from passing cars.

The incident happened between 2 pm and 3 pm on Tuesday, and it’s alleged that the thieves fled the shop before making their way to a parked car.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “The suspects involved in the theft are believed to have entered a white VW CC which was parked in the riverside car park of the Whitesands.

“The vehicle was parked on the road side of the car park, near the top of the Whitesands and we are looking to find out if anyone passing it, captured the vehicle on their dash camera.

“If you drove along the Whitesands and have a good dash camera, it’s likely you may have captured the number plate.”

Anybody with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 – quoting incident 2039 of September 18.
