Jane uses artistic talents to help hospital ward
A WARD at Midpark Hospital in Dumfries has been brightened up by a new piece of art work.
Amateur artist Jane Johnstone from the town created a striking painting featuring a Highland cow surrounded by colourful flowers specifically for the Glencairn Ward.
She was inspired after striking up a friendship with senior charge nurse Claire Gabriel and hearing about the important work being carried out at Midpark.
Her gift has been warmly welcomed by the ward team and Claire herself said: “We are incredibly grateful to Jane for this wonderful donation. The painting is beautiful and will help brighten the ward environment for everyone. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and we really appreciate her support.”
Jane said she was delighted to be able to provide support.
