Introducing our new reporter, Anna Wallace

A NEW journalist has joined the team at DNG Media - Anna Wallace, from Dumfries.

Born and brought up locally, she’s been living away from the region since university, but has now returned to her roots.

Anna said: “Travelling home to the leafy suburbs of Kingholm Quay has offered more than the familiar comforts of mum’s strong cups of tea, and dad’s trips to the coast, but an exciting new job opportunity to join the team at DNG Media as a journalist.

“After living in Glasgow for a year, I have enjoyed cosy nights in watching Coronation Street and listening to various karaoke renditions of Shania Twain’s ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much’ booming from the city’s pubs and music venues below.

“It was about a year ago that I first visited the paper for work experience following my studies; an opportunity I would encourage any school leaver or writer to get involved with who may be interested in news gathering and local storytelling.

“It’s a pleasure moving back home to join the team this July, supporting the largest independent publisher in the South West of Scotland. As I settle into the role, I look forward to hearing from readers with stories and events which mean a lot to you and those in your community.”
