Hogg rink takes trophy

THE final of the John McColl Wells Trophy, sponsored by Jayne and Billy Wells, was held last week at Lockerbie Ice Rink between the rinks skipped by Jim Hogg and Jim Black.

Black’s rink led by three shots to one after two ends before the Hogg rink scored four at the third and then stretched their lead to run out winners by ten shots to four.

The winning rink consisted of Jim Hogg, Eileen Broatch, Colin Wilkinson and Sue Wilkinson.

The runners up were Jim Black, Christine Ross, Ted Hills and Helen Bell.

The presentation of prizes was overseen by Dave Stewart representing the ice rink management committee. Dave thanked Jayne and Billy Wells for their continued sponsorship of the competition before asking Ella Howatson to present the trophy and prizes on their behalf.
