A CONTINGENT from the Dumfries Harriers travelled south for their first race of the New Year and race season to take part in the now annual Carlisle Resolution 10k at Carlisle Racecourse earlier this month. The first Harrier home was the always impressive Donna Davidson in 50:45. She was using the run as part of her training for the upcoming Murcia Marathon at the end of the month. Next in was Lee Austin, the only male Harrier present on the day, in 52:39. He was followed by Jenny Mckinney in 53:36, who was closely followed by Shawhead’s own Megan Carson in 54:51. The dynamic duo of Olga Mccready and Tina Roscoe, who are mother and daughter, came over the line together in 56:58. In the accompanying 5K, Kat Reid was home in 25:36 and Jane Lenza in 34:59. The Dumfries Harriers meet every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 pm at the David Keswick Athletic Centre and welcome along runners of all abilities.
