In the following middle distance race, top Scots trainer Willie Hyslop's three-year-old dog Whack edged ahead to win from Rachel's Storm from the Lewthwaite kennels at Workington. Earlier, over 280 metres, Canny Make It ran well to deliver a three lengths victory for Hawick-based owner and trainer Francis Hill.
