In what was his third Halcrow Stadium victory in eight outings, the local runner was followed home by runner-up Extra Time, a two-year-old bitch from Maurice Lawman of Workington. There was a cross-border tussle in the final middle distance race of the night. Davy Studholme’s three-year-old Kirkbride dog Star had the edge pulling away to snatch the honours by five lengths from favourite Danny’s Dan, owned and trained by Davy Dunbar at Auckinleck.
