ON FORM . . . Tommy Goss was named cinch SPFL League Two Player of the Month for March

But the striker, who has 26 goals in all competitions this term, is fully focused on the remaining games and helping to fire Annan into the play-offs.

Goss is currently sidelined with a shoulder injury from the game against Stranraer, and missed Saturday’s win over East Fife, but he hopes to be back within the next fortnight.

He said: “I landed on my shoulder in the game against Stranraer and it’s not been great.

“My arm is still in a sling but hopefully I’ll be back in a couple of weeks. I’m hoping we’re still in the play-off places when I return.

“It’s looking as if it’s going to be four teams competing for the last two play-off spots. The win over East Fife last Saturday was so important with Stenhousemuir and Forfar also winning and we really needed that.

“I went over to support the team but it’s not great when you’re desperate to play every game and you have to sit on the sidelines but hopefully it’s not too long before I’m back out on the pitch.

“It’s great to win this award again. It’s a bit mad as I won it last March as well so it must be a good time of year for me. I have both awards sitting next to each other in my living-room.

“It would be great if I could finish the season top scorer in the SPFL. “So far I’ve scored 22 in the league and 26 in all competitions but it’s been sullied a bit by the injury as obviously I’m missing a few games at an important stage in the season.

“I love scoring goals so hopefully I’m not out for too much longer and I can still finish top.”

Just two points separates third place Annan from sixth-placed Stenhousemuir ahead of their clash with Dumbarton at Galabank tomorrow.

Annan have been unable to lay a glove on Dumbarton after three meetings so far this season, losing each contest. If the Sons fail to take anything at Galabank it would be a huge blow to their title ambitions with Stirling Albion sitting eight points ahead.
