Gibson hails comeback
ANNAN manager Wullie Gibson heaped praise on his players after they came from 2-0 down to snatch a 2-2 draw away to Edinburgh City last Saturday. Substitutes Myles Gaffney and Josh Dixon scored the goals late on, with the latter netting in the 94th minute to ensure the Black and Golds received a share of the spoils. Gibson said: “I’m extremely proud of the boys. Obviously, at 2-0 down it looks like you are going to lose the game. “But the boys, I’ve told you in the past how much they’re giving me, they’ve been a credit to themselves in the way they’ve reacted to going 2-0 down, with a couple of bad decisions against us. “It’s really good to come away with something from the game rather than nothing. “Edinburgh are a decent side and they pass the ball really well.” Gibson added: “I think Dixon showed a great reaction. He missed out from the starting 11 but he came on and got a goal at the end. “His intensity when he came on and energy helped us get back into the game. “Full credit to the boys for keeping on going and getting the equaliser at the end.” The Black and Golds are at home to Clyde tomorrow afternoon. And the manager admitted that having a full squad to choose from would ‘make his job harder going forward’. He said: “I’ve got a full squad to choose from, there’s competition for places. But I think that’s healthy, people drive each other on and hopefully we can keep pushing forward.”
