Former chairman departs the Burgh
LOCHMABEN FC have released a statement after it was announced that former chairman and player Maurice Green would be departing the area and moving down south in order to be closer to family. A statement released by the club on social media said: “The club would like to acknowledge and thank the many years of commitment that Maurice Green (Mo) has devoted to the club. “Now in the position of honorary president, he takes up new residency in Leeds to be closer to family and will have less presence watching Lochmaben FC. “Mo was a player at the start of the club existence when it formed as Lochmaben AFC, and he also took up the manager role when he moved back to Lochmaben after being away for a number of years. “ The statement continued: “He then took up the chairman role and helped guide the club through some difficult times, including the demise of the amateur league and also when the club joined with the Crichton Football Team. “We would like to wish him and the family all the best in the new move. Lochmaben FC greatly appreciates the honesty and integrity over the years and the help and support Mo has offered in his time here “All the best Mo, we hope to see you back soon!”
