Fingers crossed for full South fixture card

SOUTH of Scotland League clubs will try once again this weekend to play their first fixtures of the new year. Last weekend's scheduled matches all fell victim to the icy conditions. And on Saturday things could once more be a doubt with more cold temperatures expected. Should the weather be kind, however, five league matches, all kicking off at 2 pm, await to be played. Dalbeattie Star are set to host bottom of the table St Cuthbert Wanderers; top of the table Lochar Thistle entertain Creetown; Abbey Vale make the journey to Lochmaben; Newton Stewart host Nithsdale; and Wigtown welcome Stranraer Reserves.
